Happiness of the Ukrainians Is in the Family and Children

Sociological studies have shown: almost two-thirds of Ukrainian people get the most satisfaction from family. Successful family and many children are the happiness of Ukrainians. Friends are on the third place. Money is on the fourth place. Then, television goes. Only one in five Ukrainians are satisfied with their job. Just 3% of Ukrainians are absolute pessimists who aren’t pleased with anything. “Maybe Ukrainian people do not live an affluent life, however, they haven’t forgotten how to be happy”, experts say. Ukrainians are among the top 10 happiest nations in the world.

Namely, family and children are the main joy for almost two-thirds of Ukrainian people. Sociologists say that people cared more about money and entertainment a few years ago. Currently, incomes are on fourth place and compete with television.

If Ukrainian has nothing to hope for, then where does he go? First of all, he goes to his family to share the joy or sorrow.

 “Ukrainian nation is more traditional and less urban. Traditional values are family and children”, sociologists say. Psychologists confirm that the majority of their clients’ problems are because they cannot either communicate with their children or find a mate. To address these problems they are ready for anything.

It is inside the Slavs nature. Why? Historically, they lived on the territory that was crossed by many nations from the east and west. Thus, it did not matter what was ruined around, they’ve always had a strong family and good relationship with their children and parents.

Besides, except family relations, Ukrainians value relationships with friends. However, satisfaction from the work gets only every 5th. In the western Ukraine, this percentage is slightly higher. As to the northern and central Ukraine, more Ukrainians go to museums, watch movies, and read books. However, sociologists have seen the major differences in preferences between men and women.

“Family, children, housekeeping, gifts receiving and making presents are much more important for women; while, friends, work, money, sports, and team support are much more important for men,” Alex Antypovych says.

The happiest part of society in Ukraine is youth. Older people are happy the least of all. Only 3% of respondents do not have anything fun. And, it’s not much, sociologists calm us. They say that we are among the 10 happiest nations because what brings us the greatest joy – family and children – everyone can create and save it.
