The Most Expensive Cars in Kiev 2009

There are several things in Ukraine that quickly provoke tourists’ comments. One of them is the expensive cars in the country. You can see exclusive cars that cost millions in many cities of Ukraine. The funniest thing is that most of them are registered to the pensioners.

In spite of the crisis, there are many new exclusive cars on the capital’s streets. Many motorists from all over the world envy Ukrainian car owners. I want to present you with a rating of the most exclusive and expensive cars in Kiev that was made by Ukrainian newspaper “Segodnya” in 2009.

The most expensive car is Aston Martin One-77 that costs about $2 millions. According to Alex Cherniak-Samoilenko, the manager of the project “ТопЖЫР”, who tracks all the exclusive autonews in the capital, there are only 77 such cars in the world. Newspaper sources say that the happy owner of the car is businessman Konstantin Zhevago, and his car is turquoise. His second favorite car is the Mercedes SLR McLaren with a vertical door opening. This car closes out the top three most expensive cars in Kiev. Its price is about $1 million.

The second most expensive car is the Bugatti Veyron, which was brought to Ukraine in late September in 2009. Its price is $1.5 million. The author of the newspaper article says that the car belongs to a well-known owner of the business that produces construction materials.

As to the Mercedes SLR McLaren, the first person to drive this car was the mayor’s wife. The total numbers of such cars is 6 in the capital of Ukraine. There is also one of the newest models of Ferrari California in Kiev ($550 thousand). As well, you can see 4 Lamborghini on the roads in Kiev (from $200 thousand). One of the “Lambeau” (maximum speed 340 km/h) belongs to the owner of one of the most popular “chick” marks.

The author informs that we have three exclusive Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione ($300 thousand) and three Aston Martin DBS ($300 thousand). None of the Aston Martin DBS is registered. Cherniak-Samoilenko says, “Rich people rarely buy an exclusive car through authorized dealers. They often buy them through “grey” importers. They bring them without customs clearance in Ukraine, and register them for the disabled and war veterans”.

Another unique metropolitan auto is Morgan Aero 8. This car is hand-built. It costs more than $200 thousand. One of the owners of one of these cars is Alexander Pabat, the deputy of Kiev City Council. He purchased a unique car in 2006, and spent one and a half years on repairs and modifications under the new owner. There are also Tuned cars in Kiev, for example, the only Jaguar XJ220. It has a top speed of 350 km/h, and its price reaches $1 million.
