Ukraine’s Got Talent: Amazing Sand Art

“Ukraine’s Got Talent” is an analog of British television show. In 2009, there was born a new star. The winner of the fourth semi-final talent show “Ukraine’s Got Talent” became 24-year-old Kseniya Simonova from Evpatoria who draws a picture using volcanic sand. An emerging story line was gradually flowing from one image to another in her fleeting works. It was just a fascinating spectacle!

During the semi-final, Kseniya was drawing with sand on glass table illuminated from below. Using a video camera and a projector, her actions was shown on the screen. Images one after another were telling a story, in which a guy was killed during the war. At this time, his beloved gave a birth to his son. The final image was like following: young woman with a boy looked through the window, behind which the soul of the deceased soldier was hovering in the sky. At the bottom of the inscription was the following phrase: “You’re always here.” The audience could not hold their tears. One of the members of the jury Igor Kondratyuk said: “It was as if I’ve read a story about World War II …”

Surprisingly, this talented girl took part in the popular TV show just having one main goal. She wanted to help a little girl Nika who was in a coma due to meningitis for a long time. Despite the fact that Kseniya was not even familiar with the family of this little girl, Kseniya Simonova considered her duty to support the family. They found money but, unfortunately, little Nika died. Kseniya is indifferent to the fate of children. Therefore, she along with her husband organized a movement in her city “Honey, live!” («Живи, солнышко!»).
